So here's the thing, I have a strange addiction to spinning triangles. Recently I had the accomplishment of the last 2 years of my life (will post about later) killed by a careless driver who decided to make an illegal left hand turn into oncoming traffic. After a long drawn out battle with the insurance company I decided to take the settlement they gave me and invest it in the ever plummeting and not so stable stocks of a new RX-7. I decided to go back to my roots and get another FC. The following will be a chronology of the my trials and tribulations with my new RX-7 sprinkled with a dash of homegrown, custom parts I've made.
Now to my new toilet. First a few pictures of when I first got it.
The previous owner, a friend of mine named Jared had swapped an S5 13bt into her but had opted to leave the NA tranny and diff in the car. For the suspension there were front and rear Racing Beat sway bars installed and as far as the engine was concerned they got a set of steel braided oil cooler lines. Aside from that the car was pretty much stock. I quickly got to work and started gathering parts. So far the list consists of:
Zeal Coilovers
Kakimoto 3" Cat-back
RS*R 3" Downpipe
Turbo transmission
Turbo differential
Machined flywheel
ACT +40 Pressure Plate
ACT Street/Strip clutch disc
FD3S Calipers
FC3S Turbo Rear Calipers
Hawk Blue pads
SS Brake lines
R-Magic Redom ECU
as well as a few other odds and ends that don't need mentioning right now.
Unfortunately the Zeal's were blown when I got them so as I write this they're down in Huntington Beach being rebuilt and should be back here within the next 2-3 weeks. Can't hardly wait. Over the next while I'll update with other posts of what I've managed to install in the car as well as other things I've designed and fabricated to make this car just a bit more unique.
